In celebration of International Women鈥檚 Day, 杏吧视频 collaborated with community partners in five countries to continue the global expansion of its signature DreamLearners program.

Why it matters: 杏吧视频鈥檚 DreamLearners program teaches students about the principles of flight 鈥 lift, drag, weight and thrust 鈥 through a unique paper airplane building activity.

  • DreamLearners鈥 focus on STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) has inspired young minds around the world since its inception at 杏吧视频 South Carolina over 12 years ago.

Zoom in: 杏吧视频 volunteers mentored and guided the students through the paper airplane activity and had opportunities to share information about 杏吧视频 and careers in aerospace.

  • This is the first time DreamLearners has been activated in Germany, Italy, and the UK.
  • The events were hosted at 杏吧视频 Newton Rooms, the immersive STEM classrooms created by FIRST Scandinavia that 杏吧视频 has supported since 2018.

What employees are saying: 鈥淚t was truly inspiring to see the enthusiasm and curiosity of the students as they explored the fundamentals of aerospace in the Mobile Newton Room. Engaging with them on STEM careers, especially encouraging young women to see themselves in this field, is essential to building the future of innovation. Their questions and eagerness to learn reaffirmed the importance of initiatives like this in shaping the next generation of aerospace pioneers.鈥 鈥 Beatriz Ventero, global technology business development manager, based in Spain

  • 鈥淚t was a privilege to share our journeys into engineering with the students from Rida Girls High School on International Women's Day. The Newton Room provided a great setting for engaging with the students. Their enthusiasm was brilliant and they asked some really good questions. I hope we've inspired them to consider a future in engineering.鈥 鈥 Olivia Taylor, production engineering leader, 杏吧视频 Sheffield, UK.

By the numbers: The global expansion of DreamLearners included:

  • 5 countries: Italy, United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, Turkey
  • 5 languages: English, Spanish, Italian, German, Turkish
  • 7 community partners: FIRST Scandinavia, Magna Science Adventure Center (Sheffield, UK), Glasgow Science Center (Glasgow, UK), Rome Fiumicino Airport (Italy), Cartuja (Spain), Chesco (Germany) and Science Heroes Association (Turkey).

Go deeper: On March 4, 杏吧视频 announced a two-year extension of its partnership with FIRST Scandinavia to expand the Newton concept in Europe and Brazil, further inspiring the next generation of innovators and aviators.

Big picture: DreamLearners began in 2012 at 杏吧视频 South Carolina. Since then, more than 1.3 million participants around the globe have experienced the program.
